Insurance

It is essential to be adequately insured against cancellation, loss of personal possessions and emergency return travel etc. This is mandatory for our longer tours. A policy can be purchased through New Horizons.

Cancellation

Any cancellation must be notified in writing and will take effect from the day that it is received. The following set of charges will normally be levied:

Over 70 days before departure - deposit only

36-70 days before departure - 50% of tour price

1-35 days before departure - 100% of tour price

In the event that there are fewer than six participants (excluding guides) we will still operate the tour if possible, but we reserve the right to cancel the tour in this case, as in any other situation beyond our control.

Disclaimer

If you feel that you have cause for complaint during the tour, you should notify one of the guides as soon as possible so that we may do our best to assist you. If the problem remains unresolved you should make a written complaint within 14 days of completion of the tour.

Responsibility

New Horizons cannot be held responsible for any loss, damage to or theft of personal belongings or illness, injury or accident that may occur. Neither can we assume liability for delays, strikes, cancellations by carriers or any other events beyond our control.

Bookings

On receipt of your deposit we will confirm your place on the tour. The balance is due no later than 10 weeks before departure. We reserve the right to treat the tour as cancelled if the balance is not received by the due date.

Price Changes

We will absorb minor price increases but if we need to increase the tour price you will be notified not less than 10 weeks before departure. If the overall tour price increases by more than 10% you have the option of a full refund.

Financial Protection

To comply with the EC Travel Directive all payments for land based tours are deposited in a trust account. Withdrawals can only be made with the consent of the trustees and so advance payments are fully protected against insolvency. The air holidays are ATOL protected since we hold an Air Tour Organiser's licence granted by the Civil Aviation Authority. Our ATOL number is 6266. In the unlikely event of our insolvency, the CAA will ensure that you are not stranded abroad and will arrange to refund any money you have paid to us for an advance booking. For further information visit the ATOL website at www.atol.org.uk
