Bardsey
~ Shearwater Island
Strong
winds reduced our stay on Bardsey to a day
visit, but at least we were able to sample the
solitude of this remote island gem and enjoy
views of Grey Seals galore, basking in the bay,
as well as Chough and numerous Wheatear and
Whimbrel. Some lovely walks in the woods of
Snowdonia produced plum scope views of Tree
Pipit, Wood Warbler, male Pied Flycatcher and
Redstart along with the local Ospreys. A bonus
day on Anglesey provided a feast of seabirds
including Manx Shearwater, Fulmar, Gannet,
Guillemot, Black Guillemot, Razorbill and
Kittiwake plus Common, Arctic and Sandwich Terns
on top of Little Terns seen on the North wales
coast.
