The Carmargue

The special blend of habitats within the ‘golden triangle’ of the Camargue, Crau and Alpilles gave us top quality sightings of ‘megaticks’ like Bonelli’s Eagle, Eagle Owl and Wallcreeper, as well as a melange of other good birds like Black-necked Grebe, Glossy Ibis, Honey Buzzard, Red and Black Kites, Little Bustard, Stone Curlew, Slender-billed Gull, Alpine Swift, Hoopoe, Black Redstart, Blue Rock Thrush, Ring Ouzel, Moustached and Sardinian Warblers, Firecrest, Southern Grey Shrike, Serin, and of course, thousands of Greater Flamingoes.
