A
surprisingly quiet Portland still produced Rock
Pipit, Whinchat, loads of Wheatears, a close
flyover by a Peregrine and stunning views of a
Wryneck, followed by equally superb views of
Kingfisher and Marsh Harrier at Radipole, plus
posing Sparrowhawk and performing Hobby at
Lodmoor. At Arne we enjoyed glorious sunshine
and close views of Dartford Warbler, Sika Deer
and the spectacle of hundreds of Curlew and
Black-tailed Godwit. A Red Kite was our last
tick making seven raptors out of a grand total
of 89 species seen.
