A selection of highlights here must include wave after wave of Fieldfares, each surely a hundred or more strong, Barnacle Geese in their thousands, at least twenty Red Kites sitting five to a tree, close views of male and female Hen Harriers in flight, and magnificent views of a Barn Owl on a post with half stretched wings. By now we had seen 108 species and not a single Coot!
