Iceland

We cleared up on this fascinating island………… Common and Brünnich’s Guillemots, side by side, Harlequins at close range, a single rufous Grey Phalarope picked out from numerous Red-necks, and superb close views of a pair of White-tailed Eagles with two eaglets.

On Mývatn, the thousands of wildfowl included Scaup, Long-tailed Duck, Barrow’s Goldeneye and Slavonian Grebe. Inshore, marvellous views of Red-throated and Great Northern Divers with Whimbrel, Black-tailed Godwit, Ptarmigan, Merlin, Short-eared Owl and Gyr Falcon among the lava fields.
