The
Lake District
Our
super raptor weekend began with a picnic
watching an Osprey bathing in Bassenthwaite
Lake. Next day in a magnificent lakeland valley
with beautiful sunshine, we saw England's only
Eagle with his lovely golden mane. On Sunday we
completed the hat trick with plum scope views of
a Peregrine, gripping her perch with huge yellow
feet. Other stars included an entertaining Wood
Warbler, a smart male Redstart, superb views of
Red Squirrels and a pair of Spotted Flycatchers
nesting right outside the conservatory windows
of the fabulous Beckfoot Country House.
