Lincolnshire
Coast ~ Bunting hunting
Blizzards
and a biting Arctic wind were a fitting stage
for a magnificent flurry of '201' Snow Buntings,
flashing white wings, as they flew low across
the tundra-like landscape of Donna Nook.
Meanwhile, the lovely American Robin, posing on
the grass verge of an industrial estate in
Grimsby, seemed quite incongruous. Other big
hits included Smew, displaying Goldeneye,
confiding Knot, and close encounters with 3 Barn
Owls, which perched obligingly and even hunted
to within 30 yards of our group! Pure magic.
