Wild
Canaries ~ Birds & Landscapes
In
the very different but wild landscapes of
Tenerife, La Gomera and Fuerteventura, we
cleaned up on all the endemics and specialities,
including Canary, African Blue Tit and Blue
Chaffinch on Tenerife, Bolle's and Laurel
Pigeons, Tenerife Kinglet and Canary Island
Chiffchaff on La Gomera, with Houbara Bustard,
Egyptian Vulture, Ruddy Shelduck, Cream-coloured
Courser, Barbary Partridge, Black-bellied
Sandgrouse, Laughing Dove, Southern Grey Shrike,
Berthelot's Pipit, the Chat of course, and even
Ring-necked Duck on Fuerteventura, bringing our
trip list total to a very creditable 67 species,
and what we had seen was seen really well,
making this a very successful and enjoyable
trip.
