Coast ~ Autumn Migration
Though
the weather was great for being out, a strong wind from the wrong direction
kept most migrant passerines away.
Nevertheless, our happy group saw 75 species, starting on Friday
evening with Little Gulls roosting on Hornsea Mere.
Who can forget the
excellent views of 9 different species of waders, roosting in their thousands,
at high tide on Spurn Head, or the brilliant white Gannets speeding by
at close range off Bempton Cliffs, or the cuddly duo of Long-eared Owls
roosting in a bush just yards away?
Another super weekend.
